Our journey into travel hacking started with one credit card and zero expectations.

 We were loyal Southwest cardholders, simply covering the costs of a major home remodel—when we unexpectedly earned the coveted Companion Pass. Suddenly, one of us could fly free (just paying taxes and fees) on every trip.

It happened during COVID, and once the world began reopening, we made up for lost time—exploring the U.S. and beyond, flying for nearly nothing. But as much as we loved the freedom to fly, we kept hitting one roadblock: hotel costs.

That’s when I asked, “Is it possible to stay for free, too?” That single question changed everything.

I dove headfirst into learning how to earn and redeem points for hotel stays. What started as curiosity turned into a full-blown obsession, and it completely changed the way we travel. 

Now, I help others do the same: travel more, spend less, and make the most of every point.
